Cold Lake man charged after providing false identity to police
On February 12th, at 3:30 am, members of the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment were at 711, where they witnessed a man known to be on conditions, exit a vehicle and go inside.The RCMP had recognized the man from a previous case; however, when police questioned the man, he provided a false name and date of birth.
S/Sgt Jeremie Landry, with the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment explains, “the officer recognized this individual to be Nathan Piche, so he ran him on our system and found that he was wanted and on several conditions. But, he still provided a false name and false date of birth.”
RCMP arrested 24 year old Nathan Piche, of Cold Lake. Piche was taken before a Justice of the Peace, where his bail was denied. He has been charged with obstructing a police officer and driving while disqualified.
Piche was on warrants out of Lethbridge for 3 x breaching probation, mischief over $5,000, 2 x uttering threats, and pulling a fire alarm in a non-emergency.
Piche is scheduled to appear, via CCTV, in Cold Lake Provincial Court on February 22nd at 10:00 am.
