Coleman Hell set to play SnöJuhla
Coleman Hell to play the Bumper to Bumper Snow Stage Saturday
Juno award nominated artist, Coleman Hell will be performing SnöJuhla on Saturday afternoon at Kinosoo Ridge Snow Resort. The hill is celebrating 35 years of winter fun and what better way to celebrate by Coleman Hell performing his first ski hill performance.
“This’ll be the first for me, so I’m pretty excited!” the Thunder Bay musician says he’s never played at a ski hill before but is ready for the world-famous Kinosoo Ridge hospitality. The hill has so many fun events planned for the whole weekend, it just made sense to include one of Canada’s fastest rising stars.
Being nominated for a Juno, Coleman Hell says it feels great to receive the recognition from his country, “it feels like all the hard work I put into my album is being recognized.” The Junos will be held in Ottawa on April 2nd, with Coleman Hell being nominated for Pop Album of the Year. His debut album, Summerland received fast national success; with his latest single “Two Heads” charting on the US Top 40. The 26 year old says he finds influences everywhere, “my latest record was really influenced by 70s rock like Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon.”
Coleman Hell won’t just be sitting around waiting on that Juno, he’s busy working on the next project, ” I’m currently working on new music, exploring some different sounds which you’ll get to hear in spring, hopefully.”
As for his show on Saturday afternoon is promised to be high energy and highly entertaining, Coleman Hell says the audience is in for it, “they’re in for a high energy show. We’re gonna have a dance party.”
As for Coleman Hell, he’ll likely be sticking to the stage, admittedly not much of a skier or snowboarder, “I’m never been great at either but you should see me on a GT Snow Racer!”
You can catch Coleman Hell and perhaps even his GT Snow Racer on Saturday, February 18th, at Kinosoo Ridge Snow Resort for SnöJuhla. The Bumper to Bumper Snow Stage will be bumping at 1:00 with Lexi State opening for Coleman Hell. The party continues into Sunday with the Funk Hunters, Neon Steve and SkiiTour all performing.
The celebration is family friendly and tickets include lift passes, two hours of tubing and the concerts. Information available at kinosoo.ca.
