Hunter Charged for Shooting 4 Moose

On January 23, 2017, at approximately 4:40 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP and Alberta Fish and Wildlife attended to shots fired in the area of Township Road 624, in the MD of Bonnyville.  RCMP upon arrival confirmed 4 moose had been shot on private property and were deceased.  Cold Lake RCMP have charged 59 year old Dwayne Gerald Nest of Cold Lake First Nations with unauthorized use of a firearm.  Gerald Nest will be appearing at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.  RCMP also seized a rifle and ammunition in relation to this investigation.  RCMP are unable to comment on an investigation being carried out by another enforcement agency.
