LOCATED: Cold Lake RCMP search for Jonathan Meakin on warrant
Meakin Charged with 36 Offenses

On November 24, 2016, during the late afternoon, Cold Lake RCMP with the assistance of St. Paul Police Dog Services, located Jonathan Meakin and Tarron Grandbois, operating a stolen vehicle on the Cold Lake First Nations. Cold Lake RCMP successfully deployed a spike belt with both suspects fleeing on foot into the woods. Cold Lake RCMP and St. Paul Police Dog Services who were already on scene tracked both suspects with one suspect sustaining injuries from the police dog. 27 year old Jonathan Meakin has been charged with a total of 36 charges stemming from a series of investigations:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00 x 9.
- Fail to Comply With a Recognizance x 10.
- Drive While Disqualified x 4.
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00
- Break and Enter and Commit Theft Over $5000.00.
- Theft Over $5000.00.
- Fail to Stop for Police While Being Pursued x 2.
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle x 2.
- Resist Arrest.
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance x 4.
- Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision
19 year old Tarron Grandbois has been charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00.
- Fail to Comply With a Recognizance x 4.
- Resist Arrest.
Both Jonathan Meakin and Tarron Grandbois have been remanded into custody and will next appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m.
Update #1
The Cold Lake RCMP have located Jonathan Meakin in the late afternoon of November 25th on Cold Lake First Nations. Meakin has been arrested and will stand in court to face the charges against him today, November 25th.

Background
Cold Lake RCMP are searching for 27-year-old Jonathan Meakin, who is wanted on an Alberta-wide warrant out of Cold Lake for several outstanding charges from an incident that occurred on Nov. 8, 2016.
Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP members received a report of a stolen vehicle at a residence on Cold Lake First Nation. While attending the scene the stolen vehicle fled the residence striking a police vehicle. The vehicle then fled the area and was not located. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Jonathan Meakin. Four stolen trucks and a snowmobile were also recovered from the residence.
Citizens are advised not to approach Meakin if he is seen; instead, please contact Cold Lake RCMP at 780-594-3301 or your local police.
Jonathan Meakin is described as:
- Caucasian
- 5’6” tall
- Approximately 165 lbs
- Brown hair
- Blue eyes
