Seven Honoured at Alberta Emergency Services Medal Presentation
Medal to honour Emergency Services Members
On Tuesday evening, Regional Deputy Chief of the Bonnyville Fire Authority, Jay Melville, hosted an awards ceremony prior to the Town of Bonnyville’s regular Council Meeting, in Council Chambers. The medal celebrates and honours local volunteers and emergency services employees. The MLA for Bonnyville-Cold Lake, Scott Cyr, honoured the recipients with the Emergency Services Medal, thanking each for their years of service to the community.
“The Alberta Emergency Medal is honoured to emergency services members who have at least 12 years of service and have been serving since January 1, 2000,” Melville explains the qualifications for receiving the medal. The medal is on a blue and ribbon, to represent Alberta and white to represent good service, loyalty, and conduct. It has the words “In Service of Albertans” subscribed on it.
