RCMP remind the public if you are planning to drink, plan a safe ride home.
On April 26th at 11:30 pm, RCMP received a 911 call that a vehicle had hit a tree in a provincial park. RCMP arrived, and found the vehicle had struck several trees and was stuck in the ditch. The driver was not on scene and had fled on foot; however, was located shortly after. When found, the driver blew over twice the legal limit. A 37 year old male from Cold Lake has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
At 3:00 am on April 28th in Cold Lake, a vehicle was stopped for speeding, on 50th avenue. The driver was suspected of being impaired, officers conducted a breath analysis, which revealed blood alcohol levels over twice the legal limit. A 23 year old male, from Cold Lake, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and is scheduled to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on June 8th.
