Cold Lake RCMP Report No Charges Laid in 5hr Standoff

On March 13, 2016, at approximately 5:20 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP were called to a report of a possibly armed and barricaded adult male at a Cold Lake South residence.  The standoff lasted approximately 5 hours before the individual eventually fled from his residence on foot.  Cold Lake RCMP chased the suspect across Highway 28, eventually making the arrest in the open field area behind the Lakeland Inn.

The adult male whose name is not being released was transported to Cold Lake Hospital for an assessment.  No charges are expected and no one was injured during this event. Cold Lake RCMP would like to thank the nearby residents for their patience, who were advised to shelter in place during the standoff, as a precaution.
