Bonnyville RCMP Briefs
The Bonnyville RCMP Detachment is reporting a few incidences of note from February 19-21, 2016.
Break and Enter:
Sometime over the weekend of February 19-21, 2016, unknown culprit(s) broke into the Sandy Rapids Community Hall on Hwy 55. The shed was also broken into and the snow-blower was dissembled. The neighbours next to the Hall also had their shed broken into. The suspect(s) may have been driving a Blue car, 5-10 years old, clean, 2 door, domestic make with boxy back end. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cst. WEIERS of the Bonnyville RCMP.
Driving:
On February 21, 2016 a 30 year old Glendon male was pulled over on Lakeshore Drive for an equipment violation. A subsequent investigation led RCMP to demand roadside breath samples resulting in a 72 hour suspension and a 3 day seizure of the vehicle.
Breach of Conditions:
On February 21, 2016 Bonnyville RCMP spotted a vehicle driving in Kehewin that had been reported stolen. A traffic stop was initiated. Two of the occupants inside, an 18 year old female from St. Paul and a 21 year old female from Kehewin were on Conditions to have no contact with each other. The vehicle was later deemed not to have been stolen, but the two females were charged with breaching their conditions.
Drugs:
On February 21, 2016 Bonnyville RCMP conducted a roadside check with a vehicle on 46 Street near 54 Ave. The member noted a strong odor of raw marihuana coming from the vehicle. The diver was arrested and the vehicle was searched. Marihuana, Marihuana paraphernalia and prescription pills in another person’s name were all located. The male was released on a $500 no cash Recognizance and Undertaking with conditions. His first appearance is March 22nd, 2016.
Man with a Knife:
On February 20, 2016 the Bonnyville RCMP received a complaint from a local bar that there was a male in the bar with a knife who had allegedly pulled it on some customers and was threatening to stab them. The male was highly intoxicated and kicked out of the bar. Police attended, arrested the male and charged him. He was released when sober.
**At the time of these releases, the RCMP have not released the identities of the individuals involved in any of the above stated incidences.
