Nothing but pure excitement! This is the best time our year to play hockey – Joe Young Head Coach St. Paul Jr B Canadiens
“It’s been a long regular season, the last ten games, that’s when you start looking at things coming up,” Young explains the Canadiens have been playing playoff style hockey for the last month in preparation. “It’s the time of year you don’t have to motivate the players to play. Obviously, they’re really excited and ready to play.”
Young’s looking forward to the energy from the home crowd tonight, “we love the support. It’ll be a lot of fun to start out at home. It gives you extra motivation, it’s a lot more fun to play in front of a big crowd.”
It gets the adrenaline pumping, the guys wanna perform a lot more, because they know there’s a lot of people watching them. – Joe Young Head Coach of the St. Paul Jr B Canadiens
The Canadiens will focus on strengthening their special teams, explains Young, “we’re working on our power play and penalty kills. When you get to playoffs, power play and penalty kill are very important. Sometimes it comes down to whether you’ll win or lose a series, so you have to be ready to go on those aspects.”
Game 1 is Friday at 8:00 pm at the Clancy Richard.
