On Friday, February 19th, the Lakeland MS Society will officially launch the 2016 Jayman Built Lakeland MS Walk campaign with its 4th annual ‘MS Night’ at the Bonnyville Pontaics’ game, as well as a Mr. Mikes VIP Meet and Greet following the game. The Society has once again teamed-up with the Head Coach Rick Swan, Office manager Kim Rocque, the Pontiacs and Mr. Mikes to raise awareness and create a ‘buzz’ around our annual event. Supporters can purchase a ticket to meet their Pontiacs for $10. The event is open to the general public, however tickets must be purchased prior to or at the Pontaics game. The event will start at 7:30pm at the RJ Lalonde arena in the C2 Centre. Media are invited to catch the action and speak directly with local MS supporters; MS staff and Council Members as well as people living with MS will also be available for interviews throughout the event. The event is a perfect opportunity for individuals or teams to register on-site for the 2016 Jayman Built Lakeland MS Walk.
The 2016 Jayman Built Lakeland MS Walk will take place on Saturday, May 7th at the St. Paul Rec Centre. In 2015, Lakeland Walkers and Runners rallied together and generated $135,000 to support local programs and services for people affected by MS, and to fuel MS research. “The wonderful support shown by this community and Lakeland area is amazing. It truly is heartwarming to see everyone come together for the same cause,” says Brenda Rosychuk, Senior Coordinator, Programs, Services and Development for the Lakeland Regional office. “We seem to raise the bar higher every year, whether it’s fundraising or telling our stories. The Walk is your chance to step-up and make a difference in the lives of those living with MS. That’s why we’re calling on the Lakeland area residents to register for the 2016 Jayman Built Lakeland MS Walk because Every Step Matters.” Says Rosychuk.
