Kehewin Man Arrested After Giving Police a False Identity

On January 11th, 2016 the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment Police Officers attended a residence in Kehewin, AB to execute an outstanding warrant a 22 year old male who was wanted for Failing to Comply with Conditions.

The 22 year old male was arrested and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he refused to speak to a Justice of the Peace regarding his bail and remains in police custody. When a defendant refuses to speak to a Justice of Peace regarding bail he/she will be remanded in police custody until further court dates.

While at the residence police encountered a 37 year old male who was believed to also be wanted by the police.  During his interaction with police he lied about his name and date of birth.  The male was arrested for Obstructing a Peace Officer and taken into police custody.

Warrants were executed for the 37 year old male out of St. Paul, AB for False Pretenses and Theft.  The male was granted $3000.00 cash bail for charges out of both detachments and released after bail was paid to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on January 19th, 2016 and for a different date in St. Paul Provincial Court.
