Fire Breaks Out on Cold Lake City Transit Bus

The driver who was the sole occupant of a Cold Lake Transit bus is safe after a fire broke out on a bus serving Cold Lake Transit Route 3.

The bus was travelling east on Township Road 630 when the fire started in the early afternoon of December 21. There were no passengers aboard at the time and the driver was able to quickly exit the vehicle. Cold Lake Fire-Rescue and the RCMP responded to the fire. An investigation into the cause is underway.

“We are fortunate that no one was injured in this incident and are awaiting the results of the investigation,” Cold Lake Chief Administrative Officer, Kevin Nagoya, said. “Regular service on all Cold Lake Transit routes has resumed.”
