Three People Face Drugs & Weapons Charges in Cold Lake

During the late morning of November 27, 2015, Cold Lake RCMP and Cold Lake RCMP’s General Investigation Section, with the assistance of the RCMP’s Edmonton Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on a Cold Lake South residence.  In excess of 2 ounces of crack cocaine as well as Cannabis Marihuana were seized.  A significant amount of cash, a handgun and a sawed off shotgun, both of which were loaded and improperly stored were also seized.

29 year-old Feysal Yusuf FARAH of no fixed address, 26 year-old Abdulahi Abdirizak SHAKIB, of no fixed address and 24 year-old Marissa ASSALI from Cold Lake, Alberta, were arrested and have been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Cannabis Marihuana, careless storage of a firearm x 2, unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2, possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm with ammunition x 2, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace x 2, and possession of property obtained by crime x 2.  The loaded handgun seized was also determined to be a stolen firearm.

In addition, Feysal FARAH also faces two charges of possession of a firearm while prohibited, as well as five charges of failing to comply with a recognizance.  Abdulahi SHAKIB also faces an additional five charges of failing to comply with a recognizance.  Feysal FARAH and Abdulahi SHAKIB have been remanded into custody and will next appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.  Marissa ASSALI has since been released on $2000.00 cash bail with conditions, to also attend Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.
