Josephine was a loving, thoughtful, and gentle woman whose life was marked by deep devotion to her family, her Cree traditions, and the quiet strength with which she met both joy and sorrow. She will be remembered with great affection by all who knew her, and her memory will remain a lasting source of comfort to those whose lives she touched.

Throughout her life, Josephine was known for her resilience, faith, and steadfast commitment to the people and values she held dear. As the last surviving member of a family of eighteen siblings, she carried a profound connection to the generations who came before her. She honored those family ties throughout her life and carried herself with humility, grace, and a warm spirit that made others feel welcome in her presence. Her life reflected the strength of someone who understood both the beauty and the hardships that can be woven into a long and meaningful journey.

Through her daily life and the example, she set for others, she left a legacy rooted in respect, remembrance, and cultural strength.

Among the simple pleasures that brought Josephine happiness was her love of cats. She found comfort and companionship in them, and her affection for animals reflected the tenderness that was so much a part of her nature. Her calm presence, caring heart, and thoughtful ways brought comfort to many and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Josephine’s life was one of quiet significance, built upon love, endurance, and a deep sense of responsibility to those around her. She listened with care, spoke with kindness, and carried herself with a gentle dignity that touched many lives. Her loving spirit and compassionate nature will continue to be remembered and cherished by all whose lives she enriched.

Josephine is lovingly survived by her son, Reginald (Glenda Paul) Mountain; grandchildren, Tracey, Stanley, Matthew, Nicole, Nathan, Brennan, Cory, Leslie, Jaredd, Jalynn, Julie, and Twila; chapans, Lane, Maddison, Gracious, Koen, Ilene, Caril Jr., June, and Jaremy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

Josephine was predeceased by her husband, Ross Mountain; children, Myra, Anthony, Quinton, Jason, and Eugina; granddaughter, Kora; parents, Annie and Joe Belly; and her seventeen siblings.

Though her passing leaves a great emptiness, Josephine’s life stands as a testament to the enduring power of love, family, faith, and tradition. She will be remembered not only for the hardships she endured, but for the grace with which she lived and the love she shared so generously. Her memory will remain a blessing to those who loved her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
