72 Years Old

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Chabot, of Plamondon, Alberta, on September 30, 2026, at the age of 72, with her loving family close to her heart.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Antoine (Tony) Chabot, who remained lovingly by her side throughout her life and until the very end.

Judy is survived by her five children and their spouses: Jodie Karas (Franco Karas), Jeremy Chabot, Dominique Collins (Bruno Breton), Sabrina Tyson (Graham Kilfoyl), and Tony-Lee Chabot (Alicia Steil); and her eleven cherished grandchildren: Christopher Karas, Nicolas Karas, Teyla Tyson, Mikenna Kilfoyl, Zoey Tyson, Atlas Collins, Ronon Tyson, Aubree Kilfoyl, Lukia Chabot, Ledger Chabot, and Letty Chabot.

She is also survived by her siblings Hal Wiklun, Larry Wiklun (Fern Smith), Terry Wiklun, Jim (Kristen) Moan, Bobby (Sharon) Moan, and Kelly (Sherry) McMillan, her best friend Lucille Dery, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched.

Judy also had a special place in her heart for the Chabot family. She was close with them and cherished the connection, love and memories they shared throughout the years. The Chabot Family: Feu Gilles Chabot (Nicole Sirois), Feu Philippe Chabot (Lucie Vaillancourt), André Chabot (Rita Boucher), Gisèle Chabot (feu Jacques Levesque), Feu Maurice Chabot (Micheline Soucy), Celine Chabot (Paul-Emile Cliché), Monique Chabot (feu Michel Poulin), Michel Chabot (Yolande Bellavance), Madeleine Chabot (Réal Morency), Jacques Chabot (Danielle Auclair), Lucie Chabot (feu Jacques Gravel), Claire Chabot (feu André Sylvain), Linda Chabot (Jocelyn Corriveau).

Judy’s greatest gift was her heart. She was one of the most caring and loving people you could ever have the privilege of knowing. From a young age, she seemed to always be taking care of someone. Her family was her world, and she gave everything she had to her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her siblings, and those around her.  Judy was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mother, a role she embraced with her whole heart. She truly believed that raising her children and being there for them through every one of life’s ups and downs was what she was brought into this world to do. And no matter how old her children became; they would always be her babies.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She felt incredibly privileged to watch her grandchildren grow and loved experiencing the world again through their eyes. She treasured every moment with them and never missed an opportunity to tell them how much they meant to her.

Judy had a beautiful, warm personality that made people feel welcome. She never excluded anyone. Even during her final days in the hospital, she continued to make friends, share stories, laugh, and brighten the days of those around her. With Tony lovingly by her side, she continued to give the same kindness and warmth that had defined her entire life.

Those who knew Judy will remember her beautiful heart, her generosity, her stories, her laughter, and most of all, the love she gave so freely to everyone around her. Her family was her greatest accomplishment, and her love will continue to live on through each of them.

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Allen Wiklun and Helen MacAhonic; her sister, Bonnie Cross; her brother, Pat Moan.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we are grateful for the lifetime of love, memories, and lessons she gave us. Her children will forever carry her with them, and her grandchildren will grow up knowing just how deeply their grandmother loved them.

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as we’re living, our mommy you’ll be.

We love you to the moon and back.”

Rest peacefully, Mom.

You devoted your life pouring your heart and soul into taking care of everyone.  Now it is our turn to hold you in our hearts, forever.

Cremation has taken place and a Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Free Evangelical Church, 14124 AB-55, Lac La Biche, Alberta with Pastor Seyi Etim officiating.
