Cold Lake – Cold Lake RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects after a liquor store employee was allegedly threatened with a knife while trying to stop a theft.

Police were called to an armed robbery at Cold Lake Liquors on 10th Street at approximately 9:08 a.m. on Sept. 14.

RCMP say two suspects entered the store, grabbed a bottle of vodka and attempted to leave without paying.

When an employee tried to stop the theft, police say the employee was threatened with a knife.

Both suspects then ran from the store on foot towards 8th Street.

Cold Lake RCMP officers and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Police have now released descriptions of both individuals and are asking anyone who recognizes them to come forward.

Suspect 1

RCMP describe the first suspect as having a medium complexion and last seen wearing:

• Beige/grey shoes;
• Black pants;
• Black hoodie with a white zipper;
• Black sunglasses; and
• A bracelet attached to his right wrist.

Suspect 2

The second suspect is also described as having a medium complexion and was last seen wearing:

• Beige and white shoes;
• White socks;
• Black shorts;
• Black hoodie;
• Red checkered jacket; and
• Black hat.

Anyone who can identify either suspect or has information about the robbery is asked to contact Cold Lake RCMP at 780-594-3302.

The investigation remains ongoing.
