Volunteer firefighters in the County of Vermilion River responded to two separate vehicle rollovers over the past two mornings, including one that sent a man to hospital.

Kitscoty Fire Department was called Friday morning to a report of a pickup truck rollover on Township Road 494.

Firefighters responded alongside County of Vermilion River Peace Officers, Medavie Health Services West and Kitscoty RCMP.

When emergency crews arrived, they found one man who required medical attention. He was transported to a local hospital. No information on the extent of his injuries was provided.

Kitscoty Fire Chief Daryl Jakubec cleared the scene by approximately 12:30 p.m. and the roadway was reopened.

Then on Saturday morning, Paradise Valley Fire Department was called to another reported rollover, this time east of Highway 897.

Firefighters stabilized the scene, provided medical assistance and helped manage traffic. No further information about injuries or the circumstances surrounding that collision was released.

County of Vermilion River Fire thanked its volunteer firefighters and dispatchers, along with bystanders who stopped and provided assistance before emergency crews arrived.
