COLD LAKE FIRST NATIONS – Some Cold Lake First Nations residents will be without water for several hours Wednesday as ongoing water main repairs and replacement work continues in the community.

CLFN says a temporary water shutdown is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon.

The shutdown will affect all residences and CLFN buildings within the designated project area. Residents in the affected area are being encouraged to plan ahead and make sure they have enough water available before service is shut off Wednesday morning.

Once service is restored, most affected homes and buildings will be able to return to normal water use.

However, four Sesame Street residences being connected to a temporary water supply during the waterline replacement work will be placed under a boil water advisory.

The affected addresses are:

• 964 Sesame Street
• 963 Sesame Street
• 962 Sesame Street
• 960 Sesame Street

The boil water advisory will remain in effect for those four homes until satisfactory water testing results are received.

Residents under the advisory should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, food preparation, making ice or brushing teeth. Boiled water should be allowed to cool before use.

CLFN also cautions that residents may notice temporary changes in water quality while service is being shut down and restored.

The temporary disruption is part of the Nation’s ongoing water main repair and replacement project.

Cold Lake First Nations thanked residents for their patience and cooperation while the infrastructure work continues.
