M.D. OF BONNYVILLE – The M.D. of Bonnyville celebrated two local properties and the people behind them during the 2026 Agricultural Service Board Tour and Rural Beautification Awards.

Rachel and Ashley Browatzke of Landry Lake Ranch received the Rural Beautification Award for Farmstead, while Jordan and Amanda Ruud of M’azing Acres were recognized with the Rural Beautification Award for Acreage.

The annual tour brought together local producers, Agricultural Service Board members, M.D. council, staff and guests for a day of learning, connecting and celebrating agriculture and rural life across the municipality.

A shared dream becomes Landry Lake Ranch

For Rachel and Ashley Browatzke, Landry Lake Ranch grew out of a shared dream to create a place where people could come together.

It didn’t happen overnight.

The property was slowly restored and built with help from family, friends, neighbours, mentors and even international helpers. Over time, that work turned the ranch into a welcoming community space while maintaining its heritage and rural character.

Today, Landry Lake Ranch offers a peaceful place for visitors to gather, celebrate and experience the beauty of the area.

That combination of hard work, history and community earned the Browatzkes this year’s farmstead award.

Years of work transform M’azing Acres

Jordan and Amanda Ruud have put their own stamp on country living at M’azing Acres.

Their five-acre property has been transformed over the years through plenty of work, creativity and attention to detail.

Award-winning gardens, rustic features, and carefully planned landscaping have turned the acreage into a rural sanctuary that reflects the Ruuds’ shared love of the land.

Their efforts earned M’azing Acres the 2026 Rural Beautification Award for Acreage.

Celebrating the people behind rural agriculture

The Agricultural Service Board Tour is also an opportunity to get out into the M.D. and see firsthand what local landowners, producers and rural residents are building and maintaining.

This year’s tour was made possible by the property hosts who welcomed guests, along with the tour participants, Agricultural Service Board members, M.D. council and Agricultural Services staff.

For Landry Lake Ranch and M’azing Acres, the awards recognize something that can be difficult to capture in a single tour — years of work and the pride that goes into making a rural property home.
