After several years of renovations, golfers will once again be able to play all 18 holes at the Lac La Biche Golf & Country Club.

Lac La Biche County announced the full course will reopen to the public on Aug. 4, marking the completion of a major phase of upgrades aimed at improving the course for members and visitors.

The County has been working on the project over the past several years with the goal of upgrading infrastructure while improving safety, playability, pace of play and long-term maintenance.

The biggest changes are found on the front nine, which has been completely rebuilt by Ohnysty Crough Golf Design.

Golfers can expect:

• Four sets of tee boxes
• Nine new greens
• Two water features
• Eighteen redesigned bunkers

Until the reopening, the course has continued operating as a nine-hole course, similar to the 2025 season.

County officials also recognized the many people who have contributed to the project, saying their efforts have helped transform the course into what they hope will become a signature golf destination for the region.

While the reopening marks a major milestone, work isn’t finished.

The County says additional improvements are planned over the coming years and updates will be shared as future phases move forward.

Located just minutes from the hamlet of Lac La Biche, the course overlooks Lac La Biche Lake and has long been a popular destination for golfers from northeastern Alberta and beyond.
