With heavy hearts the family of Lester Clifford Shirt of Goodfish Lake, Alberta are saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at the age of 70 years.

Left to treasure his memory are his children: Priscilla Shirt, Dawn (Gregory) Shirt, Lisa (Leroy) Shirt all of Goodfish Lake; grandchildren: Dyllon Shirt, Kyle (Hailey) Shirt, Lauren (Keirsten) Shirt, Sadie Jo Shirt, Drew (Harmony) Halfe, Dara (Autumn) Halfe, Lyle Jr. Halfe, Mason Shirt, Braylen Shirt-Jackson, Farryn Shirt-Jackson; great-grandchildren: Nakaydo, Caspian, Lataya, Aria, Ariah, Emiah, Mihko’Masikes, Kingsley, Brea, Tavia, Braven, River; sisters: Delia Steinhauer, Irene (Rennie) Houle, Lana (James) Jackson, Marilyn Morin, Eliza (Garry) Daniels; cousins: Sophie Houle, Maggie McConnell, Kathy McConnell; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Lester was predeceased by his spouse of 30 years, Sandra McMurray; parents: Colin & Velma Shirt; brothers: Sonny Joseph Shirt, Harold Shirt, Patrick Shirt, Denis Shirt; great-granddaughter: Lyra Halfe; son-in-law: Lyle Halfe; brothers-in-law: Melvin Steinhauer, Jess Jackson; nephew: Brayton Jackson; great-grandfather: Peter Shirt.

Funeral Service Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Memento Funeral Chapel, 45906-49 Ave., St. Paul, Alberta with Pastor Duane Grant officiating.  Cremation to follow.
