With profound sadness, yet immense gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Calvin “Cal” Murray Moore of Lac La Biche, Alberta, announce his sudden passing on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 74 years.

Cal was the foundation of his family and a man whose strength, resilience and unwavering presence shaped the lives of everyone who knew him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he believed that showing up mattered more than saying the right words.

He wasn’t a man of grand speeches or outward displays of affection, but there was never any doubt where he stood. His family never questioned that they could count on him. Nearly every day, he reached out to his children, grandchildren, extended family and friends with a phone call or a quick check-in, making sure everyone was doing okay and reminding them, in his own way, that he was there whenever they needed him.

Cal found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, boating, and ice fishing. Whether on the water or surrounded by nature, these were some of his happiest moments. The values he lived by, the strength he carried, and the unwavering presence he gave so freely will remain with those who loved him always. Though his absence leaves a void that can never be filled, his example lives on in the family he cherished. His family, and all who knew him, are stronger for having had him in their lives.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years, Lynda; daughters: Marilyn Moore (Rick Browne) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Shari (Kevin) Abraham of Fort McMurray, Alberta, and Tracey (Dino) DeMartin of Fort McMurray, Alberta; son: Darcy Moore (Rochelle Marshall) of Bragg Creek, Alberta; step-son: Mitch Stein; grandchildren: Cole Denton, Cassidy Denton, Ryan Browne, Bryce Schmidt, Alex Abraham, Kaylie (Ricardo) Luz, Lincoln Abraham, Haley Moore, Christian Moore and Daniel Moore; great-grandchildren: Maiya Walsh, Max Walsh and Haisley Hueser; sister: Vernel Moore; brothers: Brian Moore, Les Moore and Russel (Helen) Moore.

Cal was predeceased by his parents, Glen and Myrtle Moore; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Dorothy Cole; his brother-in-law, Gordon Cole; and his sister-in-law, Denise Martineau.

As per the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date.

~Respectfully submitted by the family~
