On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Ms. Joan Joyce Janvier of Cold Lake First Nations passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, at the age of 70 years.

Joan will be lovingly remembered for the deep care she showed to her family and friends. Her heart was devoted to her children: Tina Minoose (Lawrence), Brandise Janvier (Eric), Letticia Pelke (Derrick), Robin Minoose, Cynthia Minoose, Raymond Minoose, Bobby Joe Janvier (Sherry), and Leroy Janvier; her 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; her sisters Alicia Minoose and Jenny Piche; and her brother Taber Gregory. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Janvier; her daughter, Sheena Minoose; her son, Terry Janvier; her grandsons, Dominic Minoose and Joshua Janvier; her parents, Bella Minoose and Eli Minoose; and her siblings, Ernie Minoose, David Desjarlais, Margaret Desjarlais, Cathy Desjarlais, and Elizabeth Desjarlais.

Joan found joy in life’s simple comforts. She loved sitting with a warm cup of coffee and tending to the flowers around her yard, nurturing each bloom with the same gentle care she gave to those she loved. Her kindness, quiet strength, and steady presence will be deeply missed.

Wake, Thursday, July 23, 2026 (leaving Northern Lights Funeral Chapel, Bonnyville at 2:00 p.m.) & Friday, July 24, 2026, Cod Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre.

Funeral Service, Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., Cold Lake First Nations Spiritual Centre with interment to follow at the Cold Lake First Nations Community Cemetery
