In Loving Memory of Bob

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Thomas Whiteford of Bonnyville announces his passing on Monday, July 6, 2026 at the age of 79 years. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Bob eventually made Alberta his home, in 1983.

Bob’s genuine spirit was a testament to the love and pride he held for his family. He also found comfort in life’s simple pleasures – the companionship of his beloved birds, his passion for hockey, a friendly game of crib, and his lifelong appreciation for classic cars.

Bob’s career was a reflection of his dedication to public service and helping others. Throughout his lifetime – he proudly served as an Ontario Provincial Police officer, continued his commitment as a dispatcher and truck driver, and concluded his professional journey as a certified safety officer.

Above all, Bob will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the lasting impact he had on those all around him. Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of warmth, laughter, and living life to the fullest – will never be forgotten.

Bob will be lovingly survived by his children: Taylor (Liz) Whiteford, Ashley (Scott) Makaruk, Sean (Mert) Whiteford, Kellie (Jeff) Gibson, Colleen (Cam) Mitchell; step-children: Ryan, Macgregor, Jason, Allin, Elizabeth (Tony); grandchildren: Emmitt, Rosalie, Isabella, Alena, Kale, Samantha, Jacob, Lauren, Ethan, Connor, Mackenzie; step-grandchildren: Jaden, Nathan, Melanie, William, Nicholas, Benjamin, Alexander, Eric, David, Matthew, Andrew; brother: Jack (Paulette) Whiteford; Bob will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.

Bob is being reunited with his cherished wife of 39 years: Lynne Whiteford; parents: Bert & Mae Whiteford.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time.

Memorial tributes in memory of Bob may be sent to the Bonnyville Health Foundation, 5001 Lakeshore Drive, Bonnyville, AB T9N 0G8.
