Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the City of Cold Lake and the M.D. of Bonnyville near Cold Lake.
As of 9:46 p.m. MDT, meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms stretching from near Chipmanto to Primrose Lake. The storm is moving northeast at 25 km/h.
- Residents in the warning area could see:
- Damaging wind gusts
- Loonie to ping pong ball-sized hail
- Heavy rainfall
Environment Canada says damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters and trees is likely.
If a thunderstorm approaches, take immediate shelter. If you are outdoors, protect yourself from flying debris and hail, and avoid low-lying areas where water can collect.
