Lakeland Co-op celebrated another successful year while recognizing the people who have helped shape the organization during its Annual General Meeting.
Members gathered to review the Co-op’s performance, recognize long-serving volunteers and employees, celebrate local students and welcome new members to its Board of Directors.
Long-serving board members recognized
The meeting marked the retirement of two longtime board members.
Dwayne Schultz stepped down after 28 years of service, while Jim Church concluded his six-year term. Lakeland Co-op thanked both for their leadership, commitment and dedication to the organization and the communities it serves.
Joining the Board are Lisa Ford and Mike Kilburn, who bring experience in community and economic development to the Co-op.
Scholarships awarded to local students
Lakeland Co-op also recognized four students as recipients of its 2026 scholarships:
- Gabrielle Gratton
- Riley Lambert
- Faith Noble
- Cash Seguin
The scholarships are awarded annually to help support local youth as they pursue post-secondary education.
Employee milestones celebrated
Three employees were recognized for reaching five years of service with Lakeland Co-op:
- Dennis Boyd, Home Centre Estimator
- Lauren Chernoff, Controller
- Valerie Sinclair, Home Centre Cashier/Clerk
The Co-op said the employees exemplify its values of teamwork, integrity and community support.
Looking ahead
During the meeting, Lakeland Co-op reviewed its business performance and community impact, crediting its success to strong relationships with members and a continued commitment to cooperative values.
