Families in the Bonnyville area will have a new opportunity to introduce their children to 4-H this summer as 4-H Alberta launches its Bonnyville Summer Sampler Intro Club, a short-term pilot program designed to give youth a taste of the 4-H experience without the commitment of a full club year.
The non-profit program is open to youth ages 9 to 15 and will run August 24 to 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Beaver River Fish & Game.
The Summer Sampler is part of 4-H Alberta’s expanding Intro Club initiative, which has already seen success in Calgary and is now being introduced to communities like Bonnyville.
Learn by doing
Over four afternoons, participants will take part in a variety of hands-on workshops led by local community members. Activities include:
- Cookie decorating
- Floral design
- Sound exploration
- Search and rescue technology
- Microgreens
- And more
The program is designed to help young people explore new interests, build confidence, make friends and discover what 4-H has to offer through its “Learn To Do By Doing” approach.
Only 15 spots are available for this year’s Bonnyville Summer Sampler.
Registration open
Families interested in registering can learn more and sign up online through 4-H Alberta.
