Motorists travelling near the Vermilion Dam on Highway 41 can expect delays Wednesday as Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors completes soil and groundwater assessment work in the area.

According to the Town of Vermilion, the work is scheduled for May 27 and will require a partial lane closure with alternating traffic throughout the day.

Traffic control personnel will be on site while crews complete the assessment work, with a reduced speed zone also in effect.

 

 

Drivers are being advised to expect possible delays for up to 10 hours during daylight hours and are encouraged to allow extra travel time, use caution and follow all posted signage and traffic control directions.

The Town thanked residents for their patience while the work is completed safely.
