A 51-year-old Cold Lake man is dead following a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 28 near Range Road 433 on Thursday afternoon.
Cold Lake RCMP say officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:45 p.m. on May 14. Preliminary investigation indicates a head-on collision occurred between a pickup truck and a commercial truck.
The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck, a 51-year-old man from Cold Lake, was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the commercial truck, a 57-year-old man, was transported to hospital by ground ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He remains in medical care.
Cold Lake RCMP were assisted on scene by the Alberta RCMP Real Time Operation Centre, an RCMP Collision Analyst, Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority, Associated Ambulance (Bonnyville), and Child and Family Services.
Police extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
