In Loving Memory: Clayton Wilson – Northern Lights Funeral Chapel
Clayton Wilson
It is with broken hearts that the family of Clayton Wilson announce his passing on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the age of 71 years, with his daughters Dakota and Kendra by his side.
Clayton’s love for his family was as huge as the world. He adored cooking, sharing meals, and perfecting the many special recipes that became his signature dishes and preserves. His life was full of reinvention, curiosity, and courage. After graduating from an Ontario college with a law related diploma, he briefly served as a police officer before discovering his true passion in the creative world of hairstyling. From 1971 to 2002, he worked as a hairdresser, attending major hair shows and even working alongside the legendary Vidal Sassoon.
Never one to stand still, Clayton later moved to British Columbia, where he became a tower crane rigger and eventually a mobile crane operator, leading a crew of 45 men. This work brought him to Bonnyville, Alberta, where he once again embraced a new challenge—earning his Red Seal Journeyman Pipefitter certification. He continued in this trade until his retirement.
Clayton lived a life defined by resilience, creativity, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Clayton always said, ‘the most successful men always surround themselves with powerful women”, and he was blessed with three daughters who Clayton will be forever loved and remembered by: Cassandra (Eric), Kendra (Jake), and Dakota (Ryan); and by his beloved grandchildren Tresden, Talia, Alahna, Maddox, Maverick, Marlee, Koen, and Nora. He is also survived by his sister Rose, nephew Morgan (Amy), great-niece Mattea, and special friends Eszter and Josh.
Clayton was predeceased by his parents Joyce and John Wilson, and his brother-in-law Fraser Day.
As per Clayton’s wishes cremation has taken place.
