Two men are facing multiple charges after a foot chase with police led to the seizure of drugs, weapons and a stolen vehicle in Lloydminster.
According to RCMP, officers with the Crime Reduction Unit were conducting proactive patrols on April 21 when they located a stolen vehicle parked in the Park Manor area. When police approached, two males fled on foot.
After a brief chase, both suspects were arrested. During a search, officers recovered the keys to the stolen vehicle and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine.
Drugs, weapons and cash seized
Police say a further search of the vehicle uncovered additional illicit drugs, including suspected methamphetamine, cocaine and morphine. Officers also seized unstamped cigarettes, Canadian currency and items consistent with drug trafficking.
Several weapons were also recovered, including a billy club, machete and multiple knives.
Charges laid against two men
James Blohm, 37, of Bashaw, Alta., is facing charges including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Obstructing a peace officer
William Montana, 41, of Meadow Lake, Sask., is facing charges including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Obstructing a peace officer (x2)
- Failure to comply with a probation order
Both men are scheduled to appear in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on April 27.
