ACCREDITATION OFFICER
The Wah Pow Healing and Wellness Society (WPHWS), located in Beaver Lake Cree Nation, Treaty 6 Territory, is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accreditation Officer to lead and support its accreditation journey. This role is critical in ensuring that the organization’s holistic healing practices meet and exceed recognized health standards.
WPHWS is a federally incorporated non-profit organization overseeing the Wah Pow Healing Lodge, which has provided NNADAP-funded residential treatment since 1984. The organization is committed to holistic healing, combining Indigenous practices with Western approaches to support recovery and wellness.
POSITION DETAILS:
- Location: Beaver Lake Cree Nation (Lac La Biche, AB)
- Term: 12–18 months (Accreditation Cycle)
- Reporting To: Executive Director
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Accreditation Canada or Health Standards Organization (HSO) processes.
- Willingness to undergo Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and addictions-free.
- Strong commitment to the mission and values of WPHWS.
- Ability to work on-site as required for assessments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the organization’s accreditation journey, including the 12–18 month Primer program.
- Align lodge operations with HSO evidence-informed standards.
- Oversee digital platforms such as OnboardQi for assessments and the Client Portal for documentation.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Quality Improvement Action Plan (QIAP).
- Conduct internal self-assessments and compile evidence of compliance across all treatment modules.
- Provide staff training on accreditation standards, tracer methodology, and quality protocols.
- Coordinate and facilitate on-site survey visits.
- Prepare and deliver monthly progress reports to the Board of Directors.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must submit the following:
- Cover Letter outlining experience with quality improvement and accreditation.
- Current Resume with three (3) professional references.
- Copies of relevant certifications (e.g., Accreditation Coordinator Certificate).
- Detailed Budget for Services aligned with the scope of work.
- Completed Application Form (as provided in the original package).
