A 36-year-old Lac La Biche man has died following a head-on collision involving a semi-truck Monday evening.
At approximately 9:15 p.m. on April 20, 2026, Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 55 and Highway 866.
What Happened
According to preliminary findings, a semi-truck travelling eastbound collided head-on with a westbound pick-up truck. The driver of the pick-up, who was the sole occupant, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 51-year-old man from Edmonton, did not require medical treatment.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including:

▪️ Lac La Biche Fire and Rescue

Traffic in the area was detoured while emergency crews managed the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. RCMP have not released additional details at this time.
