With heartfelt sadness, the family of Victor Wally Haney of Bonnyville announces his passing at the age of 70 years.

Vic lived a life filled with energy, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made his days meaningful. He had a lifelong passion for racing cars, finding excitement and camaraderie at the track and joy in every engine he tuned or race he watched. He was equally at home in the quiet beauty of the outdoors, where camping under open skies brought him peace and contentment. Whether gathered around a campfire or exploring new places, Vic cherished the freedom and connection those moments offered. Vic was a dedicated mechanic for numerous years with Alberta Power/ATCO. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, finding his greatest happiness in the laughter, stories, and everyday moments shared with the people he loved most.

Vic will be forever remembered by his wife Brenda Haney; daughter Janice (Drew) Lapointe; son Gordon Haney; and his two precious granddaughters, Stella and Lola Lapointe, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother Jim Haney and sisters Gladys (Dennis) Wagner and Gloria (Bill) Lungal.

Vic was predeceased by his parents Michalina and Gordon Haney; sisters Margaret Slobozian and Hazel Clunas; and brothers Lawrence, Harvey, Lloyd, and Robert Haney.

His warmth, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of Vic’s life will be held at a later date.
