RCMP to Host Rural Crime Town Hall in Kitscoty
The Kitscoty RCMP are inviting residents to come out, ask questions and learn more about rural crime prevention at an upcoming town hall later this month.
Community Town Hall Set for February 18
The Kitscoty Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will host a town hall on Tuesday, February 18, 2026, starting at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Village of Kitscoty Council Chambers, located at 5015 – 50 Street.
Focus on Rural Crime Prevention
Cpl. Trevor Schmidt, Acting Detachment Commander, along with members of the Kitscoty RCMP, will be on hand to speak directly with residents about issues impacting rural communities.
Topics will include:

Rural crime reduction strategies
-
Online crime reporting tools
-
Rural Crime Watch programs
-
Community Assisted Policing Through Use of Recorded Evidence (CAPTURE)
A guest speaker will also be present to share practical information on crime prevention strategies and programs available to communities served by the RCMP.
Information Packages and Open Discussion
Attendees will have access to information packages, including tools for tracking valuables and guidance on reporting crime online. The evening will wrap up with an open forum, giving residents the opportunity to ask questions and raise concerns directly with local officers.
The Kitscoty RCMP say they look forward to meeting with the community and encouraging open conversation around public safety. Residents of Kitscoty and surrounding rural areas are encouraged to attend.
