Not sure what her mother Jena fed her before the game, but whatever it was, it sure worked.

Vienna “The Bug” Colbourne came out of the gate on fire Saturday night, lighting the lamp five times against the Wood Buffalo Huskies. The Bug wasted no time, scoring a natural hat trick in the first seven minutes of the opening period. One of those goals came short-handed, after she picked a Huskies player’s pocket at the red line and went in alone.

She wasn’t done there. The Bug added two more later in the game to finish with five on the night, giving her 14 goals on the season.

@lakelandfemaleaap Natural hat trick in the first 7 minutes. FIVE goals on the game. Absolute menace. True force. Legend (or lure 👀) has it… as she was leaving the house, her brother dropped a casual $100 agreement if she’d get a natural hatty. Vie took that personally. Main character energy. Built different. Panthers lore officially unlocked. #Panthers #afhl #Hattie #natural ♬ HYPE ME UP – Sped Up – TruththeBull

Grace “Chuckie” Manson assisted on the Bug’s first goal, then buried one of her own in the second period. Centreman Kaleigha “Mama” Dion had a big night as well, chipping in two goals and an assist. Defenceman Tessianna “Messi” Shirt got the green light and went coast to coast, finding the back of the net.

Maja “Pinchy” Pinch fired a couple of big slap shots from the point that turned into helpers, including one tipped in by the Bug. Morgan “Sinner” Ooman and Markelle “Jazzy” Whitford-Bull each added an assist.

Aubrey “Gingy’ Scanie capped things off with a buzzer beater, scoring her 11th goal of the season with just three seconds left on the clock, assisted by Baylee Brunet.

The Panthers’ forecheck was relentless all night, led by two little grinders — “Machine Gun” Kelly and “Mighty Mouse” Brenna Brunet — who caused havoc in the corners and forced turnovers. Goalie Jayvrie Houle earned the shutout and, while not overly busy, still had to battle a few tricky bounces.

Unsung heroes on the blue line Maggie “Mugzy”  Mahé and Mia Chapell deserve a shoutout as well, holding the offensive zone, keeping players onside and doing an excellent job clearing the puck out of danger and moving it up ice.

Up next, the Panthers hit the road this Sunday, travelling to Leduc to take on the North Central Impact.
