Three Arrested After High-Speed Stolen Vehicle Pursuit from Cold Lake into Saskatchewan
Cold Lake RCMP have arrested three people following a stolen vehicle investigation that led to a high-speed pursuit spanning Alberta and Saskatchewan.
On Jan. 27, 2026, members of the Cold Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Unit were conducting targeted investigations related to several recent vehicle thefts in the Cold Lake area when they located a stolen vehicle at a residence in the 4400 block of 50 Avenue.
When police attempted to arrest the occupants, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, damaging a police vehicle in the process.
With assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services and the Alberta RCMP Real Time Operations Centre, officers pursued the vehicle as it left Cold Lake and entered the MD of Bonnyville. The pursuit continued into Saskatchewan, where Pierceland RCMP and Loon Lake RCMP joined the response.
A tire deflation device was successfully deployed, disabling the vehicle and allowing police to arrest all three occupants.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been charged:
Nathan Waskewitch (39), of no fixed address, is charged with:

Flight from police
-
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
-
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
-
Driving while unauthorized
Keely Saskatchewan (25), of Frog Lake, Alta., is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. She was also arrested on multiple outstanding warrants from several RCMP jurisdictions, including charges of:

Aggravated assault
-
Forcible confinement
-
Assault with a weapon (two counts)
-
Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited (two counts)
-
Theft of a motor vehicle
-
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Traylene Whitstone (38), of Cold Lake, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
All three were brought before a justice of the peace. Whitstone was released from custody, while Waskewitch and Saskatchewan were remanded. They are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on Feb. 11, 2026.
