The County of St. Paul is already looking ahead to 2026, with council approving key administrative actions tied to land sales, senior support and upcoming provincial budget advocacy.

Council confirmed the Public Auction of Lands will take place on May 12, 2026 at 11 a.m., a date that allows administration time to prepare properties and meet legislative requirements.

Provincial budget priorities identified

Administration, on behalf of council, is preparing recommendations for the 2026 Provincial Budget, with a focus on infrastructure and municipal sustainability.

Priority funding requests include:

• Water distribution systems

• Wastewater collection systems

• Municipal fire services equipment

• Support to offset rising insurance premiums

Council noted these areas reflect ongoing pressures faced by rural municipalities, particularly as costs continue to rise while infrastructure ages.

Support for local seniors

Council also approved a $1,000 travel grant for the St. Paul Senior Citizens’ Club for 2026, supporting continued participation in regional and provincial activities.
