Vehicle Fire on Highway 16 and 897 Causing Delays and Detours
Emergency crews responded to a reported semi-truck engine fire on Highway 16 at Highway 897, impacting westbound traffic in the area.
The call sent fire and emergency response to Kitscoty Fire Department, County 9-6 Operations, Blackfoot Fire and Rescue, and the Kitscoty RCMP detachment.
Crews arrived on scene, contained the fire hazard, and set up traffic control while detours were put in place to keep motorists safe.
A Voyent Alert has been issued by the Emergency Management Division to notify the public.
Drivers are advised to expect delays and follow detours while emergency crews continue to manage the scene. Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution when travelling through the area.
