Arrests Made Following Police Pursuit Near Elk Point

Police say public tips played a key role in safely recovering firearms after a vehicle fled from officers near Frog Lake earlier this week.

“We would like to start by thanking the members of the public who made sure that we were aware of the firearms that had been thrown out of the vehicle, thus ensuring the safety of the community,” said Cst. Nicholas Couture of the Elk Point RCMP Detachment. “We take the safety of our community very seriously and will keep working proactively, using information from the public, our partners, and other RCMP detachments, be they in Alberta or otherwise, to find and arrest those responsible for causing harm to others.”

What happened

On Dec. 10, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Elk Point RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle in the Frog Lake area that was possibly linked to a drug trafficking and weapons investigation originating in Onion Lake, Sask. The driver refused to stop and fled from the police.

Additional RCMP units responded, and a tire deflation device was successfully deployed. The vehicle was disabled and stopped shortly thereafter. The suspects were arrested without incident.

What was seized

A search of the vehicle and its occupants led to the seizure of several items, including:

  • Brass knuckles

  • Ammunition

  • Suspected methamphetamine packaged in a manner consistent with drug trafficking

  • Drug trafficking paraphernalia

After the arrests, community members approached officers and reported seeing two firearms thrown from the vehicle near the location where the tire deflation device was deployed. Police later confirmed the occupants had discarded the firearms.

Further inspection revealed the firearms, a shotgun and a rifle, had tampered serial numbers and illegal modifications.

Charges laid

As a result of the investigation, Courtlin Littlewolfe, 39, and Warren Littlewolfe, 35, both residents of Onion Lake, Sask., have been charged with:

  • Flight from police

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

  • Possession of a weapon contrary to an order

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

  • 22 additional firearm-related offences

Both individuals were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. They are scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul on Dec. 18, 2025.
