Avalanche Teams Roll Through a Busy Weekend

Published On: December 9, 2025By

A busy weekend for the U18 Avalanche, who played Friday, Saturday and Sunday – and won all three.

Friday night in Frog Lake the Avalanche skated to a 6–2 victory. Tristan “Bobcat” Brousseau and Wild Wyatt Fontaine each buried two. Brendan “Buzz Saw” Kadutski and Timmy “The Tank” Cardinal added singles. Braylee “Free Willy” Lesyk chipped in a pair of helpers, while Remington “Steel” Reynolds, Kaysen “Dynomite” DeMossiac, Evett “Snoop Dog” Smereka and Dominique “Domi” Krankowsky each picked up an assist.

On Saturday in Irma the Avalanche absolutely exploded, winning 15–0. I’m not even going to attempt to list all the scoring – everyone on the roster either scored or assisted in this one.

Sunday’s rematch was a whole different story. The Irma Aces came into Elk Point looking like a completely different team – clearly missing some key players the night before. This time it was a tight one, the Avalanche pulling out a 5–4 win with the game-winner coming in the final minute from Steel Reynolds. Free Willy Lesyk scored twice, while The Tank and Wild Wyatt each added one. Buzz Saw Kadutski had a three-assist afternoon, with two more from Cade Sayers. Odin St. Arnault and Bentley Looy also chipped in assists. Drayden “The Wall” Skakun and Owen “Ollie the Goalie” Grykuliak shared the duties in net.

Our U15 Avalanche team split their weekend with one win and one loss.

On Saturday they hosted Fort McMurray and won 8–6. Cade “Eagle Eye” Elliot, Jaxon “Magic” Marcoux, Hudson “The Bull” Brousseau and William “Billy Bob” Ballas all scored twice. Lennox “All Out” St. Arnault added three assists. Goaltender Theo “Long Horn” Loughran-Quinney faced 32 shots.

On Sunday the U15s fell 5–3 to visiting Whitecourt. Magic Marcoux scored twice, with Grayson “Slim” Skakun adding the other. Jesse James Penner picked up a couple of apples, while The Bull and Billy Bob added assists. Reid Sayer turned away 39 shots between the pipes.

With several regulars out of the line-up, the U13 Avalanche travelled to Bonnyville on Friday night with three rookies called up from the U11 farm team – Damian “Foghorn” Ockerman, Landon “Lights Out” St. Arnault and Maximus “To the Max” Laliberte. All three played great. The game ended in a 4–4 draw, with Jace “The Jackal” Malo scoring all four for the Avalanche.

The U11 Avalanche played Saturday at home, winning 12–5 over the Cold Lake Ice.

Up from the U9 farm team again this week, Hard Knox Mudryk added an assist and showed terrific forechecking. Joining him was another U9 call-up, Mighty Cayson Younghans. To the Max Laliberte had a five-goal game, while league-leading captain Cohen “Big Horn” Brousseau added four more to his season total. Lights Out St. Arnault put up a goal and four assists. Mason “Mini-Wheels” Weir picked up four helpers, and Jasper “The Grizzley Bear” added two assists.

This coming weekend the U7 and U9 Avalanche will be hosting their annual tournament on Saturday. Come down to the AGR and watch these future superstars in action.
