4 Wing Cold Lake Extends Night Flying Training to December 12
Cold Lake residents can expect to see and hear military aircraft later in the evening over the coming week. Due to earlier weather delays, 4 Wing Cold Lake has extended its night flying training schedule until December 12, 2025.
The training will not run past 11 p.m., and flights will not operate on weekends or statutory holidays.
Night flying is an essential requirement for both aircrew and ground crew, ensuring they maintain the skills needed for operational readiness. While these exercises are necessary, 4 Wing says it remains mindful of the Lakeland community.
“4 Wing is always mindful of the Lakeland community and this type of training is not intended to disrupt your valuable peace and quiet,” the statement reads. “The ability to conduct night missions is vital to our operational capability.”
Residents with questions about military flight activity can contact 4 Wing Public Affairs for more information.
