St. Paul Mayor Glenn Anderson Says Growth Comes Down to Teamwork, Trust, and Showing Up

St. Paul’s Mayor Glenn Anderson believes progress is not built on big promises but on steady hands, honest conversations, and a community that knows how to pull together. In a recent conversation with Lakeland Connect, Anderson laid out where the town is heading, what keeps him motivated, and why he thinks St. Paul’s strength comes from its people as much as its policies.

A Mayor Focused on Practical Progress

From infrastructure upgrades to long-term planning, Anderson says the town’s direction is rooted in realism rather than rhetoric. His approach centres on improving what residents rely on every day.

“We have to make decisions that make sense, not just this year but ten and twenty years from now,” he said. Anderson emphasized that the town’s planning process is designed to keep St. Paul growing steadily without losing its small-town character.

Economic Development Starts With Stability

Anderson highlighted that one of the town’s biggest advantages is its stability. Strong local businesses, regional partnerships, and a willing workforce help fuel the community’s economic backbone.

“We’re doing the work to make St. Paul a place where businesses want to invest,” he said. “Growth happens when people have confidence in their town and know their council is working for them.”

He noted renewed interest from new businesses, ongoing efforts to support local entrepreneurs, and a commitment to strengthening St. Paul’s position as a regional hub.

Community Spirit Still Leads the Way

Anderson said St. Paul’s people remain the town’s greatest asset. Volunteers, sports groups, cultural organizations, and families all play a role in what he describes as an unshakable community heartbeat.

“We step up for each other. That’s what makes St. Paul special,” he explained. Whether it’s fundraising, coaching, or showing up for events, Anderson believes the town’s spirit is what keeps it thriving.

Working Together for the Long Haul

Anderson also highlighted council’s renewed focus on collaboration. He says good leadership means listening, adjusting, and recognizing that no one accomplishes anything alone.

“Everything we’re doing is about working together,” he said. “Council, administration, residents — everyone has a role to play in shaping St. Paul.”

Keeping St. Paul Moving Forward

From roadwork to recreation to long-term infrastructure, Anderson says the town is committed to building responsibly while keeping residents’ needs at the centre.

“People want honesty. They want straight answers. They want a town that keeps its word,” he said. “That’s what we’re working on every day.”
