Kalinski Leads Unofficial Results in M.D. of Bonnyville Election

Kalinski re-elected as Reeve, mix of experience and new faces across wards

Residents of the Municipal District of Bonnyville have once again placed their confidence in Barry Kalinski, re-electing him as Reeve in the 2025 municipal election.

Barry Kalinski has been re-elected as Reeve with 1,662 votes, defeating Greg Sawchuk (1,123) and Darcy Skarsen (507). Kalinski previously served one term as Reeve from 2021–2025 and represented Ward 4 as councillor for a decade prior. He had been unseated by Sawchuk in the 2017–2021 term before returning to win back the position four years later.

Skarsen, who also sought the Reeve’s seat, previously served two terms (eight years) as councillor for Ward 2.
