Harrison Doubles Up: Rookie of the Week and Rookie of the Month

Last Updated: October 1, 2025By

The AJHL has a new name to watch, and he’s wearing a Bonnyville jersey.

Gavin Harrison, the 16-year-old forward from Cold Lake, AB, has been turning heads since puck drop and now has two major honours to show for it.

After being named the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week for September 22–28, Harrison has followed that up by becoming the first-ever recipient of the Adapt AJHL Rookie of the Month award.

Harrison’s stat line speaks for itself. He leads all AJHL rookies with eight points (3G, 5A) through just five regular season games, and he’s riding a five-game point streak to start his Junior A career. His September included a five-point stretch across three games, highlighted by a two-goal, three-point night in a 9-4 win over the Olds Grizzlys.

It’s not just regular season magic either. Harrison announced his arrival back in exhibition play, piling up seven points in three games with the Pontiacs before carrying that pace into meaningful action.

For a player who also belongs to the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos, it’s been a breakout month in Bonnyville colours — and a sign of big things to come.
