Bonnyville RCMP make significant drug seizure and recover stolen handgun
A Bonnyville man is facing multiple drug and firearm charges after RCMP executed a search warrant on a residence along Moose Lake Drive.
On Sept. 22, 2025, Bonnyville RCMP began investigating unlawful firearms possession. With support from the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (EAD CRU), officers obtained a warrant and searched the home. Inside, police located:

820 grams of suspected cocaine

25 grams of suspected methamphetamine

Prescription pills
-
A stolen 9mm SIG handgun
Charges Laid
Jeffery Albert, 45, of Bonnyville has been charged with:

Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

Possession of stolen property

Possession of a weapon obtained by crime

Unauthorized possession of a firearm

Possession of a firearm knowing possession was unauthorized

Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition

Transfer a firearm without authority
Albert was remanded into custody following a Justice of the Peace hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 29, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.
