A one-day drug trafficking investigation in Bonnyville has led to two arrests, drug seizures, and the capture of a man wanted on Canada-wide warrants.

On Sept. 5, 2025, Alberta RCMP’s Community Response Team and Bonnyville RCMP located a male believed to be trafficking drugs in town. Police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Escape at 45 Street and 43 Avenue, arresting two occupants.

Officers seized 7 grams of methamphetamine and $110 in Canadian currency.

Arrests and Charges


The driver, 30-year-old Bonnyville resident Jayden John, was found to be wanted on Canada-wide warrants for a parole violation and breach of parole conditions. He now faces additional charges including:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance

  • Possession of property obtained by crime

  • Being at large without lawful excuse

John was remanded into custody after a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on Sept. 10, 2025.

The passenger, 31-year-old Bonnyville resident Leticia Dumont, was arrested for breaching a release order. She was later released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville on Sept. 16, 2025.
