In Loving Memory: Joyce Dawe – Northern Lights Funeral Chapel
Jacqueline “Joyce” Dawe
November 13, 1935- July 23, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mom, Joyce, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the age of 89 years.
Her love of life was matched only by her love for her family. Joyce was born in Simpson, SK in 1935 and married George in Saskatoon, SK in 1953. George’s military career took them and their expanding family on many adventures across Canada (Rockcliffe-Ottawa, ON, Halifax, NS, Goose Bay, Labrador, Bagotville, QC, and Europe (Baden-Soellingen, Germany), finally ending back “out-west” with a transfer to Cold Lake, AB. Mom and Dad worked together and realized their dream of owning their own small farm and relocated to the La Corey district in the early 70’s where their adventures and unwavering love and commitment to family and grandchildren continued.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband George (2010); granddaughter; Shannon Ruggles, parents: Ernie & Esther Ferguson; mother-in-law: Nellie Dawe, brothers; Pal Ferguson, Ernie Ferguson, sisters; Dorothy Thomson, Marjorie Ferguson.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her children; Kevin Dawe of Fort MacLeod, AB, Colleen (Robert) Ruggles of Cold Lake, Sandra Dawe (Dean Muller) of Spruce Grove, George Dawe of Ardmore, Leonard Dawe (Barb Fayant) of Bonnyville; eight grandchildren: Carrie (Tim) Ulfsten, Steve Ruggles, Jordon Dawe (Alicia), Sarah Dawe, Jeremy Dawe, Matthew Dawe, Lucas Muller, Mitchell Muller; six great grandchildren: Megan (Gerratt), Dana, Darcy, Adelina, Lilly, Aria; two great-great granddaughters: Blake, Noah; sister: Barbara Smith; sister-in-law Olga Ferguson, as well as many family members and friends.
Over the years, dementia may have taken some of Joyce’s memories, but it never took her smile or cheerful spirit.
As per Joyce’s wishes, there will be no funeral and a private family interment will take place at a later date at the Holt-Mosten Cemetery, SK.
Respectfully submitted by the Dawe Family
