Fire Restriction now in place in MD: BRFA

A Fire Restriction is now in effect for the region, including for the Municipal District of Bonnyville, Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach and Pelican Narrows and Village of Glendon. 

Under this restriction: 

  • Existing fire permits are suspended. 
  • All existing fires must be extinguished. 
  • Safe wood campfires within fire rings in campgrounds and on privately owned  land are allowed. 

Prohibited: 

  • The use of fireworks and exploding targets are also prohibited. 
  • Outdoor wood fires and charcoal briquettes on public lands, including  backcountry and random camping areas. 
  • Any burning, other than a campfire, on private land. 

Allowed: 

  • Safe wood campfires (including charcoal briquettes) on private lands and in  provincial campgrounds in a designated fire ring. 
  • Backyard fire pits, charcoal briquette barbeques on private land Propane/natural gas-powered appliances. 
  • Open flame oil devices.
