Prolific offender Gamache arrested breaking conditions
Bonnyville RCMP caught a prolific offender breaking conditions of his release, which led to new charges.
An off-duty cop spotted Dean Peter Gamache, 35, operating a vehicle while bound not to on Friday, July 11.
The vehicle was spotted by members, who confirmed the driver and attempted a traffic stop.
He fled at a high rate of speed, failing to stop at the first stop sign he crossed.
RCMP did not follow and arrested him at his residence, where public safety was no longer an issue.
As a result of the investigation, Gamache was charged with:
- Operation of Motor Vehicle while prohibited;
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle;
- Flight from police; and
- Failure to comply with release order.
Gamache was brought before a justice of the peace and though originally remanded, he has since been released, police say.
He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Bonnyville on Aug. 5, 2025.
“We want the community to know that we are committed to holding accountable all criminals, especially those who would do continuous harm to our homes,” said Sgt. MacFarland of the Bonnyville RCMP.
“This file shows that we are always on alert for prolific offenders and will do everything we can to ensure the safety of those within our purview as well as the goods they worked to hard to obtain”.
